There are plenty of stories inThe Sandmanthat touch on some genuinely tragic and depressing subjects , but the serial ' most upsetting tale might not be able to make it into theNetflixadaptation .
The main plot ofThe Sandmanlargely orb around Morpheus , Lord of the Dreaming and the titulary Sandman . However , the comic includes a number of separate storylines and one - off story that may only slimly involve Dream or one of his Endless siblings . The critically lauded story has been faithfully adapted by Netflix , let in its unique storytelling decisions . However , despite the cultism to keepingNeil Gaiman’sSandmanuniverseas precise to the strip as potential , certain elements have had to be commute . In a noticeable difference from the original fib , the many DC characters and connections once present inThe Sandmancomics have been removed almost entirely in the Netflix adaptation .

But because Netflix ’s Sandman has withdraw the story ’s various connections to the DC Universe , the show may not be able to conform one of the serial publication ’ most poignant tales . InThe Sandman # 20by Neil Gaiman and Colleen Doran , focus duty period away from Morpheus and puts the spotlight onto Urania Blackwell , an associateof the Outsider Metamorpho . To be fair , therehavebeen a few DC charactersfrom theSandmancomicsthat have made it into the show ’s first season , albeit with some changes . While John Dee was the Justice League villain Doctor Destiny in the comics , the show make no credit of that . Same for Hector Hall and his history as the superhero Sandman . So while there ’s a chance part of Element Girl ’s story may make it into the show , fans should expect major changes if her tale does get adapted .
While Netflix ’s Sandman show has aim to be as close to the original employment as possible , the earliest percentage ofThe Sandmanjust has too manycameos from DC charactersto make a 1:1 adjustment executable . While it ’s honest that Element Girl ’s story could be make over , fans may omit out on the original story special . Element Girl was a for the most part forgotten hero whenThe Sandman # 20was released and her story was a tragic twist on the luck of superheroes who are presumed to get happy conclusion once the adventures are done being tell . Sure , Netflixcould find a way to bring the story to life , but fans ofThe Sandmanmay desire to anneal their expectations on seeing Element Girl ’s story dependably retold .
