TheJustice Leaguehas had its fair share of questionable member inDC Comics , but the speculative by far is aGreen LanternevenSupermancan’t stick out . The   Justice League ’s   account   is a " who ’s who " of superheroes in DC Comics , cycling through fighter like a revolving threshold . When members like Batman or The Atom take a hiatus from the League , they   are certainly missed . However , members like Bloodwynd and Blue Jay much have comic readers begging at times to leave because of how uninteresting or frustrative they can be . Still , none have come close toGuy Gardner ’s Green Lantern , who was so bad that   he was   hat by not just the Lantern Corps , but the Justice League as well .

Gardner has always been a controversial character . Originally   a backup to Hal Jordanin font anything materialise to him , he ’s become known as a person stooped in his own ego . He ’s always trying to one - up   other Hero   and become the one true Lantern of Earth , until he loses his ring in a affaire d’honneur with Hal Jordan . Still , this has n’t stopped him from trying to be the " one true Lantern " when he attains a yellow ring to go forward his quest . His personality has made him infantile and unmanageable to get along with , and nothing take a shit that more apparent than an matter ofJustice League Americawhen he takes on Superman .

InJustice League America#66 by Dan Jurgens and Rick Burchett , Guy Gardner attack the League to take Tora , his X - girlfriend , with him after he was kicked out . An all - out battle ensues to subdue him   with Superman dragging him submersed . What ’s interesting though is that he never genuinely discombobulate apunch at Gardner . Rather , he just countenance him vent his choler at him because he feels it ’s not worth the endeavor to in reality give him a fight . He knows how childish Gardner is , and he does n’t even want to give him the time of solar day , even calling   him a " belligerent idiot . "

Gardner gave nothing more than a temper conniption to get what he believe he " deserves , "   while the Justice League   was more interested with just getting him out of there .   What ’s even more telling though is Superman ’s response to Batman ’s solvent to the problem . When Batman approaches him to talk about how to get Gardner to calm down , he suggestsreinstating him into the Justice League . Superman ’s in utter disbelief at the thought of convey Gardner back into the League . To him , he ’s just a tiddler as hint by him ask Batman if he should just " adopt him too . " It ’s clear that Gardner is more a core to the League than a help , and the idea of him coming back is just more pain in the neck than it ’s worth .

The bad part is that the whole arc concenter on The Atom returning to essay the current Justice League , and image Gardner come back is enough for him to not stick around . Gardner being on the squad just makes it not the same League in the Atom ’s psyche . He ’d rather just leave than be a part of it . While Gardner has gone on to be in big Justice League tarradiddle , including theDeath of Superman , it ’s vindicated just how loathed he is . He ’s by far theworst member of theJustice League , and extremity like Superman know that thisGreen Lanternshould have never been reinstated , let alone been in the grouping , in the first place .
