A core part ofSuperman’sappeal is that he ’s basically durable , which is why it ’s so surprising that even he can fall dupe toAlien’sinsidiousXenomorphs . While it took some very limited circumstances , one comedian proved even Clark Kent is n’t immune to the world ’s most notable extraterrestrial threat .
On paper , a crossover between Superman andAlienmight seem wacky . Dark Horse and DC ’s previous collaborationBatman Versus Predatoris much more logicalas the two force play are pretty evenly rival . Superman and the Xenomorph though appear to be on the paired end of the power spectrum . With Superman ’s invulnerability , X - Ray Vision , and top-notch - strength there ’s no way the Xenomorphs could hurt him , no place they could hide out from him , and no probability they ’d exist his attack . All of that is of course assuming Superman had admittance to yellow sunshine . Luckily for the Xenomorphs , this is far from a guarantee in their natural home ground of unlucky infinite ship and colonies , setting the stage for them to teem Clark Kent and end him .

In 1995 , Dark Horse and DC Comics teamed up forSuperman / Aliensby Dan Jurgens , Chuck Dixon , and Jon Bogdanove . The comic sees Clark investigating a deep space distress call that might possibly be of Kryptonian origin . He eventually traces the call to a city far away from any sun , easy drain his powers . This eventually puts him on a collision class with a Xenomorph plague . In his thinned res publica , he ’s barely a match , not helped by Superman ’s insisting on refusing to kill the lusus naturae . His first encounter with one of the creatures leaves him with three monolithic claw target on his chest and acid burn mark on his case . Worse yet , a face - hugger later impregnates him with a Queen Xenomorph . The whole site even forcesSuperman to wear a special Xenomorph - proof costume . Though Clark survives the comedian , it ’s made abundantly clean that he very easily could have died .
While it might seem like a copout for Superman to face the Xenomorphs without his powers , what the comic really exposes is that Superman is so much more than his power . Even when confront completely incomprehensible monster , Clark Kent still values the saving of life . Because of this , even if he did have his powers , it ’s wholly possible the Xenomorphs could trounce him . IfSuperman resist to kill the Xenomorphs , there ’s no reason an total swarm of them could n’t flood out the Kryptonian . Worse yet , if a Xenomorph had really explode from his chest like the comic tease , then that could perhaps produce a Kryptonian Xenomorph , which would be an almost unbeatable threat .
Despite his Kryptonian heritage , Superman is an incredibly human Hero of Alexandria , making the Xenomorph a perfect foe for him to face . Though it might have takenSuperman’spowers dampen , his conflict withAlien’sXenomorphsproves that even the Man of Steel is n’t whole invulnerable .
