The Man of Steel has an evident lineal inverse in the villainBizarro , but the baddie that in reality well serves as a dark mirror toSupermanis the cosmic tyrantMongul . This may seem strange , as Bizarro was explicitly created to be a misrepresented mirror translation of Superman , deal a similar appearance to him but acting in the opposite manner . But ultimately Bizarro is only Superman ’s opposite on a surface level . One of his other villains , Mongul , provides a more meaningful hydrofoil to the Man of Steel .

Thus despite not being a direct diametric ofSupermanlikeBizarro , Monguldeserves the moniker much more , as the anti - analogue between the two are much more gripping and thus take a crap their battle much more compelling .
