DC Comics at last concludes theirSupermanprequel serial with a revelation concerning the Man of Steel ’s sire - and his nifty villain . The newWorld of Kryptonseries ( one already existed and this 2021 reboot is quite different ) depicts life on Superman ’s plate major planet before its infamous destruction . Even with all their advanced engineering science , the Kryptonians are seemingly powerless to prevent the core of the major planet from becoming unstable . The scientist Jor - El , given power by the Kryptonian council , dictate the structure of shields around the center , but the project is push - intensive and will ask a great forfeiture by the citizens ; everyday life will switch for every inhabitant of the planet . Not everyone is onboard with Jor - El ’s determination , and one of those men is General Zod , here simply Dru - Zod .

InWorld of Krypton # 6 , publish by Robert Venditti with graphics by Michael Avon Oeming , a series of protests have break out across the major planet . The planetary security strength - on orders from Zod - aggress the protestors , and battle rages . Meanwhile , Zod and Jor - El defend one - on - one , Jor - El in a suit of armor remindful of his son ’s more - notable superhero outfit on Earth . Jor - El has lied to the people of Krypton and even his own wife ; the shields around the inwardness will onlydelaythe destruction , not block up it wholly . Jor - El knew for six calendar month that Krypton was doomedand told nobody , perhaps unable to dissemble through his indecisiveness . By contrast , Zod is an fabulously decisive and magnetic commandant who has the respect of the armed force of Krypton . In a strange agency , Jor - El could almost see Zod ashispersonal Superman - at least , until the very ending of the series , in which their friendship has collapse down .
Of of course , in the current DC continuity , General Zod is Superman ’s major enemy and Jor - El is stagnant , having passed away in the same plosion that doomed his homeworld . The serial conclude with a fight between acquaintance and hope for the future of all Kryptoniansas Lara Lor - Van looks to Earth as a destination for their Word . World of Krypton # 6is available now , and time will severalize if DC will ever return toSuperman’shome planet again .
