The group uses Dreamer ’s powers to escape Belle Reve and enrapture all the direction to the House of Secrets in Vermont , where they emerge from Catman ’s head as Deadshot curses the young metahumans out .

They Had Real Chemistry That DC Should Capitalize On
I ’m not gon na lie in , when Jon was first aged up , I was tempestuous at the sudden push and development he catch . Not that I minded Jon being an openly bi Superman , I was just miffed that his time as Superboy was over before it really thrived . And I recognize that a lot of masses liked Jon and Jay ’s family relationship and it was corroborate project more open same - sex pair . Maybe it was the speed at which their family relationship develop or maybe I ’m just not a Jay buff . Either way , I’ve never been a shipper when it came to Superman and Gossamer .
On the other hand , I ’ve actually liked the growing bond between Jon and Nia . They had a fun friendly relationship that maturate after she was properly introduced into the DC Comics canon . And truth be separate , they had a real joining during last year’sAbsolute world power : Super Sonone - shot ( also written by Maines ) . They were both citizenry whose lives had been upended by Amanda Waller , but it was Dreamer who help Jon come back from the verge . Even back then , before Jon strongly defended Nia inSecret Six , I had an inkling something was there between these two .

I could read why DC would be hesitating to snap off up Jay and Jon . They are one of the most prominent queer couples decently now . Some may balk at the idea of the junior Superman ending his same - sex family relationship for a more heteronormative onewith Dreamer . But being with a cleaning lady like Nia does n’t make Jon any less bi , and Dreamer has been a great example of trans internal representation and is no less deserving of a kinship as well . With how things seem to be go , I would n’t be surprised to see Jay and Dreamer become an official couple presently .

Granted , Secret Sixis a miniseries , and it ’s doubtful we ’ll get a detachment between Jay and Jon and a new family relationship with Dreamer in just a few payoff ( at least I desire so , because this book should be more than just family relationship drama ) . But I see cracks forming between Jon and Jay and anyone with eyes can see there ’s a chemistry between Nia and Jay . While I do n’t expect a relationship to imprint betweenSupermanand Dreamer just yet , I could see it happening rather than we think .
