ScreenRant : How surprised were you when you found out who Celina ’s young love interest was ?
Lisseth Chavez : Alexi Hawley , who is the creator of the show , pitched the estimate to me before we started spud the season . He was like , " How rum would it be if you ’re dating John Nolan ’s garage striation nemesis , and he does n’t know who he is until finally it clicks ? " I ’m like , " That would be hilarious . "
So I ’m well-chosen that it all happened . It tells a good tarradiddle . He was amazing to work out with . He ’s an passing gifted player , and we worked so firmly via Zoom going over the material so he would feel confident . It was an overall great experience .

Lisseth Chavez : I just imagined him singing to me , and I ’m like , " Oh my God . " That ’s on the nose what I figure . I just pictured him sort of serenading me , and I ’m just like , " What ? I ’m not decrease for you . " And then he just sort of sweeps me off my feet and I ’m just like , " Of all people . " [ Laughs ]
Celina seemed like a fan from the beginning . She was always say the song was tricky .
Lisseth Chavez : Yeah . She was crush to his songs and dancing , and aboveboard , it was such a catchy song . Even for this time of year that we were fool , it never really left . It was a very catchy song , and 9 - 1 - 1 hopefully does the same .
Fans Will See More Of Rodge In The Rookie Season 7
“I feel like they mesh well together, and they compliment each other.”
I wish that it was important for Celina to properly introduce Rodge to Nolan and Bailey .
Lisseth Chavez : In a perfect earth , I feel like Celina was wait that we could all just look back and laugh about it and just be one bad family unit . It was just laughable when it hit Nolan and who he was when he mentioned it . That was a funny consequence . I think it ’s going to take some time , but I feel like we ’re on the right course now .
Celina is still with Rodge at the end of the sequence . Do you feel like he ’s a good friction match for her long - term ?
Lisseth Chavez : I think so . I recall they ’re so cute together . I feel like they sort of match each other ’s energy . He ’s like this cute , offbeat , nerdy guy who ’s all about the music , and he sleep together everything about the technology behind the euphony . I find like they mesh well together , and they congratulate each other . We will see more of Rodge .
He said he write another song for Nolan , so I ’m very interested if we will get to hear it .
Lisseth Chavez : Oh my God . We ’ll see . I think Celina would have to see it first before she introduces it to Nolan .
I ’m not certain if it ’s just me , but a few episode ago , I thought we were seeing some spark between Celina and Miles . Is there mayhap something there ?
Lisseth Chavez : That ’s so funny . I sense like , hopefully , they will become good friend in the police force . Celina is a taken woman . [ Laughs ] But it ’s curious you say that . I think I record that a little bit too . I imagine I learn some thread or something talking about that . I call back it was when we were heading towards the lift or something , and I believe his lady friend fare . But I think it is platonic .
That was actually the exact moment I was consider of .
Lisseth Chavez : No , I did learn that too . I was like , " Really ? Did it really understand that way ? " It ’s a friendly relationship , and I hope they remain friends . Hopefully you fall in love with [ Rodge ] the more you get to see him and see him and Celina together . But I think they ’re bully .
Chavez Believes That Celina And Aaron Are Still In Contact After His Transfer
“I want to believe that they still play Dungeons & Dragons together.”
This intact installment was a fantastic ride . We find out that the attacker in Angela ’s case were the untried girls . I ’m curious what your reaction was when you read that in the book because it ’s reasonably dark .
Lisseth Chavez : Oh my God . When I read it too , I was like , " Holy moly . What is happening ? " I feel like it did get fairly saturnine . Just even screw about the three friends plow on their one friend . It is bad in itself already . It was uncomfortable .
The Rookiehas such incredible duality because you had that coloured plot line , you had the Rodge storyline , and then you also beguile a raccoon . I ’m assuming you had a live fauna on set ?
Lisseth Chavez : Oh , yeah . We had like three raccoons on set and one stuffed racoon . I took exposure with the stuffed raccoon . It was a raft last on for this instalment . The Rookie show a little bit of everything . In one episode there ’s the action , the body fluid , the drama . There ’s a little bit of everything .
How often do you think Celina keeps in inter-group communication with Aaron ? They were secretive before they had that radar target last time of year .
Lisseth Chavez : I know . I know . I want to believe that they still play Dungeons & Dragons together . So in my imaginary world , they ’re still really well friend . They have to play dungeon & Dragons together . That ’s their matter . So in this world , yes .
Celina is live on with Lucy , so how do you feel their relationship has evolved over the seasons ?
Lisseth Chavez : We ’ll see a little bit more of what it ’s like and how our friendly relationship has grow . It ’s fun shot with Melissa . I find like we ’ve also develop a friendship outside of work , so the friendly relationship bleeds into us being roommates and how close we ’ve gotten . It ’s peachy . I love her , and she ’s awesome .
Since you ’ve already finished filming the season , is there an upcoming instalment that you ’re particularly excited for sports fan to see ?
Lisseth Chavez : There is , but it ’s a small bit on the dark side . I am excited . I ’m frantic to see how everything got put together . I do n’t love what I can say . I do n’t even call up the episode turn . But I am worked up for a specific episode . It is a little bit more on the darker side .
