Batman ’s rogues ' gallery is usually view as one of the best collections of supervillains in risible books , but he also has a divers cast of support character . The Dark Knight can never be a lone masher for long in his ongoing fight against Gotham City ’s deep - rooted depravity , and he becomes hard by   expanding   his   famous lengthy Bat - family .

The likes of Alfred Pennyworth and Commissioner Jim Gordon expectedly get the spotlight they merit in live - action at law theatrical outings , but there ’s still   untapped potential given how dense Batman lore is . The possibilities for who can be explored in movies become even greater when considering Matt Reeves’The Batmanuniverse and the mainline DCEU as separate entity .

Dr. Leslie Thompkins

Bruce Wayne ’s iconic pantryman Alfred Pennyworth deservedly retains his status as the former ’s arguablymost important human relationship in Batman comicsand every other medium he appears in . His allegiance , love ( sometimes even tough ) , and unshakable handwriting as Bruce ’s surrogate father since the death of his parents have been paramount to Batman being able to last as long as he has in the grimy , unforgiving , and almost perpetually bleak streets of Gotham City .

That being said , Dr. Leslie Thompkins is an underrated comic book role model   for Bruce that has n’t catch the representation she deserves . She ’s featured in the late and great Dennis O’Neil’sThere is No Leslie Townes Hope in Crime Alley!comic and theBatman : The Animated Seriesepisode adaptation of the same name , and most late in Mattson Tomlin ’s superb Elseworlds taleBatman : The Imposter . Like Alfred , she provides a firm but guiding hand for Bruce / Batman when he ’s at a particularly low peak in life sentence . She ’d arguably make for an excellent maternal figure to Robert Pattinson ’s disruptive Bruce Wayne and a unique , grounded perspective in her own right in Reeves’The Batmanuniverse .

Batwoman/Kate Kane

The graphic symbol of Batwoman has number a long way since her origin , and that ’s because the original version from the Silver Age of comics   is unrecognisable now . Batwoman was initially introduce   as a one - dimensional love interest to Batman , but now she ’s been re-introduce as Kate Kane – Bruce ’s cousin on his female parent ’s side .

She ’s also since become arguably the highest - profile LGBTQ+ superhero in DC Comics ' catalog and has been leave a more flesh - out   backstory . Kate grew up as a wealthy heiress in a military class , becoming inspired by Batman to fight crime in Gotham after her mother was murdered by gunmen and kidnaper . She ’s since been part of the Bat - family after discovering Batman ’s individuality and even co - led the Gotham Knights with him inDetective Comics . The DCEU seems as potential a blank space as any for a   divinatory adaption .

Ace The Bat-Hound

nail the Bat - Hound is one of themost memorable of DC ’s " Super pets,“with this dog appearing in various forms throughout the comic book publishing firm ’s history . He ’s been depicted as a few unlike breeds across several continuities , including as a German Shepherd , English Mastiff , and a Great Dane . Of course , he ’s also been depicted as a Great Dane in the DCAU’sBatman Beyondanimated show .

It ’s hard to see how fetch Ace into a live - activity movie would n’t be a crowd - pleaser , as it could be a poignant way to lick in some more tender moments in Bruce ’s liveliness and help ground him that much more . This could debatably work well in either Reeves ' upcomingThe Batmansequels or with Keaton in the main DC Extended Universe . Ace ’s canine olfactory organ could certainly help when it comes to detective piece of work .

Batman/Terry McGinnis

The DC Animated Universe’sBatman BeyondTV series proved to be the cult - classic rendition of the Dark Knight that no one knew they want until they get it . It took an ambitious spin on the superhero that paid off , intermingle constituent of Ridley Scott’sBlade Runner , Spider - Man , and – of course – Batman to create a younger , neo - noir hacker iteration . It inspired comic book adaptation , but to this mean solar day it remains a shame that it has n’t get down another on - filmdom adaptation after its show ( and associated animated movie ) , especially since the timing could n’t be better in the mainline DCEU .

Fan - favorite role player Michael Keaton is returning to put on the cape and cowling in DC ’s upcomingThe FlashandBatgirlmovies . It seems sane to assume he wo n’t be in the suit for too much longer , and Keaton ’s old age is mature to take on a wise man role to a Terry McGinnis live - action version . Whether it ’s theatrical or an HBO Max pilot , DC Films surely hasdirectorial options for a potentialBatman Beyondlive - actionmovie .

Henri Ducard (Technically)

Technically , Henri Ducard has feature in a live - action mechanism moving-picture show ,   but not as his established amusing book likeness . Liam Neeson act as a man by the name of Ducard in Christopher Nolan’sBatman Begins , only to be reveal as Ra ’s al Ghul years after the destruction of the League of Shadows ' monastery .

Henri Ducard does train Bruce Wayne in the comedian as well , but instead as a virtuously equivocal French investigator unaffiliated with the League . InThe Batman , Alfred does suggest he trained Bruce in combat yr prior , but perhaps innovate the traditional version of Henri Ducard could fill in the gap of how he learned to become the World ’s Greatest Detective . While it is n’t strictly necessary to excuse that , it would be a   welcome bit of worldbuilding and could make for an excitingly tense dynamic between him and Bruce , given Ducard ’s loose moral compass .

Etrigan The Demon/Jason Blood

While it ’s certainly a more unconventional choice , Etrigan the Demon would be an exciting supernatural pickax since he’sone of DC ’s best " monstrosity " characters in the comics . He ’s a character that could   carry himself in a live - action mechanism project as he has in the comedian should Warner Bros. and DC Films take the time to point out .   However , he also shares some surprising tooth root with Batman that could be interesting to see in the mainline DCEU where metahuman elements are normally explored .

Etrigan is a fiend from hell who , ironically , come up himself frequently siding with forces of good within the DC universe . This includes Jason Blood , the man to who he becomes bonded . The antihero was earlier based in Gotham City , leading him to have team up up with Batman on a few occasions – including an   episode of the DCAU’sThe New Batman Adventures . DC Films is set to lucubrate its on - screen roster with supernatural characters like Constantine , Zatanna , and the wider Justice League Dark , so now is as good a prison term as any to adapt Etrigan the Demon .
