The Batman

The Batmanis the Caped Crusader ’s latest version , and Matt Reeves ’s depiction of Gotham City is one that brightly conflate both chemical element from the comic books and a semi - realistic timbre that grounds the movie in a sense of believability . While some purist might hope more from the comics or the DCEU , Reeve ’s world just feels more like the eccentric of existence Batman would inhabit .

As any DC sports fan   is mindful , Gotham ’s Dark Knight is n’t the only costumed crimefighter the city has cognize . The ilk of Aquaman , Wonderwoman , and Superman might seem a niggling out of shoes in Reeves ’s earth , but there are plenty of other bomber and vigilante that would be perfect for this darker and more amusing - Holy Scripture - similar population .

Spectre

Matt Reeves ’s adaption of the Batman universe might not be the most believable setting for most of DC ’s fantasy - fueled characters , but a supernatural constituent could easily fall into position , especially if the faint side of Gotham is bring out once more . Enter the Spectre and his liveliness of payback .

A ghostly being bring in justness to Gotham ’s criminal infernal region would definitely be something fans would love to see , especially give the fact that the character has been drawn to Batman ’s desire for revenge , justice , and other virtuously gray-haired undercurrent . To see the two work together would n’t be out of post .

The Phantom Stranger

The Phantom Stranger is yet another supernatural character that would flux well with Matt Reeves ’s Gotham , and there are several different venues and adaptation of the character the filmmakers could use to induct him into the macrocosm . But regardless of whether he ’s a ghost , an holy person , or a humankind from the future stuck in a universal time loop , his noir - themed effort are corking for another Batman closed book .

Gotham City might not be run over with demons , rage , or other entities of the like , but it does have an overabundance of execution and havoc . It would n’t be wrong to assume Batman might call upon the Stranger ’s omniscient slipway to help him solve a in particular baffling fount .

Red Hood

Given the fact that many of Red Hood ’s motifs have been shared with the new personification of Batman , such as the motorcycle motif and red and grim coloring palette of the movie , it ’s safe to say that some variation of the character would fly high in Reeves ’s Gotham . Although no Jason Todd currently live in this Batman ’s mythos , that ’s not saying he does n’t survive .

The Red Hood is an assumed name used by different lineament in the DC world , including one of the Joker ’s originsand a crowd inspired by the masked persona . It ’s more plausible that the Red Hood Gang might live in this canyon , but there ’s still time to develop an appropriate avatar .

Raven

Again , while a fantasy constituent would be hard to make believable in this universe , Raven could be the exclusion if given the right direction . particularly if they pull from something like Kim Garcia ’s graphic novel that give her baron a mix of conjuration - realism by making her more of a psychical than a conduit for the dark forces of Azarath .

A Reeves - made Raven movie could be an excellent supernatural thriller , specially if some ofThe Batman’sgothic overtones are brought back . keep an eye on her duke it out with Trigon the Terrible might be overkill , but a game of cat and creep with someone like Deathstroke would be ideal .

Nightwing

Robin the Boy Wonder might be an strange member of the Reeves - verse , buta version of Nightwing would certainly match Batman ’s energyagainst the corrupt and distorted nature of this new Gotham City . specially if he ’s struggling emotionally after live on in Batman ’s tail .

Although it might involve a 2nd or third continuation until fans see a true hot - action edition of the character , Nightwing would be right at household in Reeves ’s Gotham . specially since it would be a very stunt - heavy yield .

John Constantine

To be fair , any member of Justice League Dark would be a cracking fit for Reeves ’s universe , but Constantine and his grungy nature would fit too well against the modern gothic of the Reeves - verse . If Reeves takes a Thomas Nelson Page or two fromSupernatural , aHellblazermovie would be a stair in the right direction .

A magical - realism take on Constantine , preferably with Keanu Reeves reprising the role , would be a spirit - pounding thriller that the director would pitch full - heartedly . As graphic as Matt Reeves was willing to go with someone like the Riddler , it ’s punishing   to tell what he would do with the dark world of the cynical sorcerer .

The Sandman (Wesley Dodds)

Although Neil Gaiman ’s reinvention of the character will always be the expert translation , there ’s no reason that a version of the original cloak police detective could n’t have ties to the Lord of Dreams . A modernization of Wesley Dodds would be involve , but it ’s an easy effort to accomplish .

Depending on the successof the forthcoming Sandman Netflix serial , a version of the Sandman ’s original visual aspect may or may not be on the horizon . Speculation away , a vigilante tec with crimefighting technology of his own invention seems to be something Reeves has a endowment for adapting .

The Question

If there ’s one DC character that would be more   in their component inThe Batman’suniverse than Batman himself , it ’s the Question . The conspiracy - obsessed tec would be idealistic to take on a series underworld of crooks , gangsters , and git with the large of ease , and Reeves ’s universe would be pure for him to explore .

A modern adaptation of the Question would have to take a variety of Watchmen ’s Rorschach and Frank Miller ’s Spirit , but Reeves would make it bump with minimal difficulty . The gothic nature of Batman amalgamate with the crime - noir of the Question would check all too well in the director ’s wheelhouse .
